Tung Vu

Introducing the "Tung Vu." In Vietnamese, "Tung" signifies dignity, while "Vu" translates to wizard—a fitting name for this masterfully crafted cane. The name "Tung" also honors the man in Vietnam from whom I sourced some of the exceptional wood.
This cane is crafted from some of the world's most beautiful and rare woods. The handle features an exquisite piece of Siam Rosewood, also known as Siamese Rosewood, sourced from Tung himself. The scientific name for this wood is Dalbergia cochinchinensis. This particular piece boasts a stunningly tight curl in its grain, adding remarkable beauty and chatoyance.
The body of the cane is crafted from a rare and striking lace Sheoak board from Australia, often referred to as "spaghetti lace Sheoak." Sheoak is prized for its dark red to orange-purple heartwood and highly figured grain, creating a mesmerizing display of color and pattern. Due to the difficulty in finding sizable boards, Sheoak is ideal for smaller, high-end projects like this cane.
The divider is made from the even rarer ebony burl, bordered with brass. Burl wood is a unique formation where the grain grows in a deformed manner, often creating intricate, knot-filled patterns that add a layer of natural artistry to the cane.
This cane measures 41 inches in length, tapering from just over 1 1/8 inches thick at the handle to just under 1 inch at the bottom. It can be custom cut to your preferred length and weighs 1.6 pounds without the case.
As with all my walking canes, you'll receive a free, custom, compact nylon storage/gift bag, perfect for carrying in your pocket or purse when you're out and about.
As an added bonus, you'll also receive a custom, one-of-a-kind padded storage/gift case, along with a laminated certificate of authenticity that fits neatly into the case pocket.
*Free shipping is included within the continental US.
